    Contenuti

    L'insegnamento approfondisce gli elementi di base per la progettazione la gestione e la verifica di impianti per il trattamento correnti liquide e gassose e per il condizionamento delle stesse. L'insegnamento si articola in due parti: la prima riguarda le tecnologie che adottano principi di funzionamento fisici; la seconda presenta una panoramica delle tecnologie di tipo chimico.

    Testi di riferimento

    - Unit Operations of Chemical Engineering - Autori: L. McCabe, Julian C. Smith and P. Harriot - Casa editrice: McGraw-Hill Education;
    - Ingegneria delle reazioni chimiche – Autore: O. Levenspiel – Casa editrice: Casa Editrice Ambrosiana;
    - Perry's Chemical Engineers' Handbook 8th edition - Autori: DW Green, RH Perry (A cura di)

    Obiettivi formativi

    L'insegnamento intende fornire agli studenti strumenti di approfondimento che sono alla base della gestione degli impianti per il trattamento dei reflui (liquidi e gassosi) derivanti dall'attività antropica. Con particolare riferimento all'ottimizzazione delle apparecchiature basate su separazioni di tipo fisico e dall'altro quelle che prevedono l’esistenza di fenomeni reattivi.

    Prerequisiti

    Competenze attese: Analisi Matematica, Fisica, Chimica – Propedeuticità: Fenomeni di Trasporto nell’Ambiente, Idraulica

    Metodologie didattiche

    Lezioni frontali: Teoria (15 ore) ed esercitazioni (9 ore)

    Metodi di valutazione

    Prova orale -Valutazione degli elaborati progettuali
    La prova orale intende accertare l'apprendimento delle conoscenze dello studente in relazione agli obiettivi formativi dell'insegnamento, ovvero:
    - principi di gestione e dimensionamento degli impianti per il trattamento dei reflui (liquidi e gassosi) derivanti dall'attività antropica;
    - funzionamento delle apparecchiature per il trattamento di correnti inquinate;
    - apparecchiature basate su separazioni di tipo fisico e che prevedono l’esistenza di fenomeni reattivi;
    - capacità di valutare e confrontare le diverse soluzioni ad un dato problema ambientale.
    La prova orale si svolgerà nell'esposizione di elaborati tecnici e con un colloquio articolato in domande sugli argomenti trattati durante l'insegnamento, atto ad accertare il livello di conoscenza raggiunto dallo studente.
    Non è consentita la consultazione di vocabolari, prontuari, testi o materiali didattici.
    Non è consentito l'utilizzo di di strumenti o materiale informatico.
    La prova orale sarà valutata in trentesimi.
    Il superamento dell'esame avverrà con un voto minimo pari a 18/30.

    Contents

    The discipline examines in deepth the basic concepts for the design, management and verification of plants for the treatment of liquid and gaseous currents and their conditioning. The discipline is divided into two parts: the first concerns technologies that adopt principles of physical functioning; the second presents an overview of chemical-type technologies.

    Textbook and course materials

    - Unit Operations of Chemical Engineering - Authors: L. McCabe, Julian C. Smith and P. Harriot - Casa editrice: McGraw-Hill Education;
    - Ingegneria delle reazioni chimiche – Authors: O. Levenspiel – Casa editrice: Casa Editrice Ambrosiana;
    - Perry's Chemical Engineers' Handbook 8th edition - Authors: DW Green, RH Perry (Editors)

    Course objectives

    The discipline aims to provide students with in-depth tools that are the basis of the management of wastewater treatment plants (liquid and gaseous) deriving from human activity. With particular reference to the optimization of the equipment based on physical separations and reaction phenomena.

    Prerequisites

    Expected expertise: Mathematical Analysis, Chemistry, Physics – Prerequisites: Mass and energy transportation phenomena, Hydraulics

    Teaching methods

    Oral classes: theory (15 hours) and exercises (9 hours)

    Evaluation methods

    Oral test - Assessment of design works.
    Oral test aims at verifying the knoledge of the student in the framework of the formartion goals, namely:
    - basic concepts for the design, management and verification of treatment plants of wastewaters, solid wastes and gaseous effluents;
    - description of the operation of technologies for the treatment of polluted streams;
    - physical separation technologies and chemical separation technologies;
    - critical abilities for assessing and comparing different solutions at an environmental problem.
    Oral test will consist in the discussion of the design works and in an interview on questions on the topics covered by the discipline, to ascertain the level of knowledge achieved by the student.
    It is not allowed to consult vocabularies, prontuaries, texts or educational materials.
    It is not allowed to use tools or IT equipment.
    The oral exam will be evaluated in thirtieths.
    Passing the exam will take place with a minimum grade of 18/30.
