Prerequisiti | Conoscenze di analisi matematica e fisica. Elementi di fenomeni di trasporto |
Metodologie didattiche | Lezioni frontali e di laboratorio |
Metodi di valutazione | Prova scritta. Domande teoriche ed esercizi |
Altre informazioni | Sono forniti appunti, dispense, tabelle e grafici. |
Programma del corso | 1. Relazioni generali struttura-proprietà-processi produttivi nei materiali. La cinetica dei processi. Proprietà meccaniche di metalli, polimeri, compositi. I materiali ceramici. La corrosione. |

Contents | The course concerns the different types of materials for civil constructions, primarily concrete, therefore metals and polymer-based materials. Elements relating to the use of materials for green building and elements for the calculation of conventional structures with innovative materials are provided with hints on the micromechanics of composite materials. |
Textbook and course materials | The program is centered on the texts of J. Shackelford "Science and Engineering of Materials" and M. Collepardi "The New Concrete". |
Course objectives | The student acquires the decision-making tools for the choice of materials and technologies suitable for structures in civil constructions. The decision-making process is framed within the current regulatory framework, with specific reference to the direction of the works and the testing of the works. |
Prerequisites | Knowledge of mathematical and physical analysis. Elements of transport phenomena |
Teaching methods | Frontal and laboratory lessons |
Evaluation methods | Written test. Theoretical questions and exercises |
Other information | Notes, handouts, notes and graphs are provided. |
Course Syllabus | 1. General structure-property-production process relationships in materials. The kinetics of processes. Mechanical properties of metals, polymers, composites. The ceramic materials. Corrosion. |
