    Contenuti

    L’insegnamento affronterà le principali tematiche relative alla Comunicazione Tecnica nel ciclo di progettazione e sviluppo dei prodotti industriali.
    La parte comune dell’insegnamento (6 CFU - 48 ore), rivolta agli studenti dei curricula Meccanico, Aerospaziale ed Energetico, affronterà i fondamenti del Disegno Tecnico Industriale, ponendo l’attenzione ai seguenti aspetti:
    • Normativa di riferimento;
    • Regole di rappresentazione secondo le proiezioni ortogonali;
    • Sezioni e quotatura;
    • Errori di lavorazione, tolleranze dimensionali, catene di tolleranze e cenni sulle tolleranze geometriche;
    • Rappresentazione e designazione degli elementi di collegamento, sia smontabili che fissi;
    • Rappresentazione e designazione degli elementi di macchine.
    Per gli studenti del curriculum Meccanico, l’insegnamento è integrato da un Laboratorio CAD (CAD 2D) (3 CFU - 24 ore) dedicato all’acquisizione delle competenze di base per la realizzazione e gestione di elaborati tecnici digitali conformi alla normativa vigente.

    Obiettivi formativi

    Gli obiettivi formativi sono declinabili attraverso i c.d. descrittori di Dublino.

    + Conoscenza e capacità di comprensione
    Il corso si prefigge di far acquisire allo studente una solida preparazione in materia di Disegno Tecnico Industriale e rappresentazione grafica secondo la normativa tecnica internazionale, ai fini della comprensione e produzione di elaborati tecnici utili alla progettazione, realizzazione e verifica di componenti meccanici.
    Per gli studenti del curriculum Meccanico, il corso fornisce inoltre le conoscenze di base del Disegno Assistito al Calcolatore (CAD 2D) per la produzione e gestione della documentazione tecnica.

    + Capacità di applicare conoscenza e comprensione
    Lo studente deve essere in grado di rilevare la corrispondenza tra rappresentazione grafica e funzione del componente meccanico. Deve altresì comprendere le implicazioni progettuali legate alla scelta di quote, tolleranze, rugosità e dispositivi di accoppiamento.
    Per gli studenti del curriculum Meccanico, tali capacità comprendono anche la realizzazione di elaborati tecnici mediante sistemi CAD 2D nel rispetto della normativa di riferimento.

    + Autonomia di giudizio
    Lo studente deve essere in grado di formulare un giudizio critico sui disegni tecnici di componenti e assiemi, anche parzialmente definiti. Deve altresì essere in grado di giudicare l’impatto delle scelte di rappresentazione tecnica sulla funzionalità, producibilità e assemblaggio del prodotto.

    + Abilità comunicative
    Lo studente deve essere in grado di illustrare i fondamenti teorici e applicativi relativi a norme di Disegno Tecnico Industriale, tecniche di rappresentazione, quotatura e tolleranze. Deve altresì argomentare i collegamenti logici tra i diversi temi della materia, utilizzando un linguaggio tecnico proprio della disciplina.

    + Capacità di apprendimento
    A conclusione del corso lo studente deve disporre di tutti gli strumenti utili per proseguire in modo autonomo, adottando un approccio critico, lo studio delle evoluzioni della materia, sia mediante continui aggiornamenti tecnici e normativi.

    Per gli studenti del curriculum Meccanico, il laboratorio costituisce inoltre una base per il successivo apprendimento dei sistemi CAD tridimensionali e degli strumenti digitali di progettazione.

    Prerequisiti

    Non sono previste propedeuticità. Tuttavia, è auspicabile che lo studente possieda conoscenze di base nel Disegno Tecnico e nella Geometria Descrittiva, nonché una familiarità con la rappresentazione e l’utilizzo del linguaggio tecnico.
    Per la partecipazione al Laboratorio CAD non sono richieste conoscenze pregresse nell’utilizzo di sistemi di Disegno Assistito al Calcolatore.

    Metodi didattici

    Lezioni frontali da 2h ciascuna sui diversi temi della materia accompagnate da esercitazioni in aula sull'applicazione delle conoscenze acquisite.
    Per gli studenti del curriculum Meccanico sono inoltre previste 24 ore di attività di laboratorio dedicate all'utilizzo di un sistema di Disegno Assistito al Calcolatore (CAD 2D) per la realizzazione di elaborati tecnici conformi alla normativa di riferimento.

    Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento

    La verifica dell'apprendimento prevede una prova scritta, con esercizi sugli argomenti dell'insegnamento che, se ritenuta sufficiente, dà accesso all'orale che verificherà le capacità di fare collegamenti critici, di sintesi e di approfondimento.
    E’ consentito usare prontuari, testi o materiali didattici durante la prova? NO
    E’ consentito l’uso di strumenti o materiale informatico (PC, tablet, etc.)? NO

    Alla prova scritta viene assegnata una valutazione in trentesimi. Il superamento della prova (voto minimo: 18/30) consente l'accesso alla prova orale e alla valutazione delle esercitazioni svolte durante l'anno.

    Il voto finale tiene conto:
    • dell'esito della prova scritta;
    • della capacità di analizzare criticamente e argomentare le omissioni e gli errori commessi nella prova scritta;
    • della discussione orale, volta a verificare la maturazione dei contenuti del corso;
    • della qualità e completezza delle esercitazioni individuali.

    Per gli studenti del curriculum Meccanico, tra le esercitazioni individuali rientrano anche quelle sviluppate nell’ambito del Laboratorio CAD 2D, i cui aspetti teorici e applicativi potranno essere oggetto della discussione orale.

    La prova orale e le esercitazioni potranno confermare o integrare il voto della prova scritta, contribuendo alla definizione della valutazione complessiva.

    ESERCITAZIONI
    Nel corso saranno svolte esercitazioni in aula, che copriranno circa il 40% delle ore complessive della parte comune dell'insegnamento, e saranno assegnati elaborati da completare a casa, finalizzati al consolidamento dei contenuti teorici.
    In particolare, le attività riguarderanno:
    • la realizzazione di disegni costruttivi di componenti meccanici e organi di macchine, con applicazione della quotatura funzionale, tecnologica e di collaudo;
    • la scelta e la rappresentazione corretta dei collegamenti filettati e non filettati;
    • l'interpretazione dei disegni tecnici, con attenzione all'identificazione di forme, funzioni e relazioni funzionali tra i principali organi di macchine;
    • la rappresentazione completa degli organi, comprensiva delle indicazioni relative alle tolleranze dimensionali e alla finitura superficiale.

    Per gli studenti del curriculum Meccanico le esercitazioni sono integrate dalle attività di laboratorio dedicate alla realizzazione di elaborati tecnici mediante sistemi CAD 2D, coerentemente con gli argomenti sviluppati nelle lezioni teoriche.

    The course will address the main topics related to Technical Communication within the product design and development cycle.
    The common part of the course (6 ECTS – 48 hours), addressed to students enrolled in the Mechanical, Aerospace and Energy Engineering curricula, covers the fundamentals of Technical Drawing, focusing on the following topics:
    • Reference standards;
    • Rules of representation according to orthographic projections;
    • Sections and dimensioning;
    • Machining errors, dimensional tolerances, tolerance chains, and an introduction to geometrical tolerances;
    • Representation and designation of detachable and permanent fasteners;
    • Representation and designation of machine elements.
    For students enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering curriculum, the course is complemented by a CAD Laboratory (2D CAD) (3 ECTS – 24 hours), aimed at providing the basic skills required for the creation and management of digital technical drawings in compliance with current technical standards.

    Course objectives

    The training objectives are defined according to the Dublin Descriptors.

    + Knowledge and understanding
    The course aims to provide students with a solid background in Industrial Technical Drawing and graphical representation according to international technical standards, enabling them to understand and produce technical documentation for the design, manufacture and verification of mechanical components.
    For students enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering curriculum, the course also provides the basic knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (2D CAD) for the production and management of technical documentation.

    + Applying knowledge and understanding
    Students must be able to identify the correspondence between the graphical representation and the function of a mechanical component. They must also understand the design implications related to dimensions, tolerances, surface roughness, and fastening devices.
    For students enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering curriculum, these skills also include the production of technical drawings using 2D CAD systems in accordance with the applicable technical standards.

    + Making judgements
    Students must be able to formulate critical evaluations of technical drawings of components and assemblies, even when partially defined. They must also be able to assess the impact of technical drawing choices on product functionality, manufacturability, and assembly.

    + Communication skills
    Students must be able to explain the theoretical and practical foundations of Industrial Technical Drawing, including technical standards, representation methods, dimensioning, and tolerances. They must also be able to discuss the logical relationships among the different topics of the course using appropriate technical terminology.

    + Learning skills
    At the end of the course, students will possess the necessary tools to continue studying the subject independently, adopting a critical approach and keeping up to date with technical and regulatory developments.

    For students enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering curriculum, the laboratory also provides the foundations for the subsequent learning of 3D CAD systems and modern digital design tools.

    Prerequisites

    No mandatory prerequisites are required. However, it is recommended that students possess basic knowledge of technical drawing and descriptive geometry, as well as familiarity with graphical representation and the use of technical language.
    No previous knowledge of Computer-Aided Design systems is required for participation in the CAD Laboratory.

    Teaching methods

    Frontal lessons of 2 hours each on the various topics of the subject accompanied by practical exercises in the classroom and in the laboratory on the knowledge acquired.
    For students enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering curriculum, the course also includes 24 hours of laboratory activities devoted to using a Computer-Aided Design (2D CAD) system to produce technical drawings in compliance with applicable technical standards.

    Assessment methods

    The learning assessment includes an oral exam in which the methods and techniques useful for solving the project work are illustrated. The oral exam will verify the ability to make critical connections, the ability to synthesize and delve deeper.
    Is it permitted to use handbooks, texts or teaching materials during the test? NO
    Is the use of computer tools or materials (PCs, tablets, etc.) permitted? NO
    The written examination is graded on a 30-point scale. A minimum grade of 18/30 is required to access the oral examination and the evaluation of the exercises completed during the course.

    The final grade takes into account:
    • the result of the written examination;
    • the ability to critically analyse and discuss omissions and mistakes made in the written examination;
    • the oral examination, aimed at assessing the student's understanding of the course contents;
    • the quality and completeness of the individual assignments.

    For students enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering curriculum, the individual assignments also include those developed within the 2D CAD Laboratory, whose theoretical and practical aspects may also be discussed during the oral examination.

    The oral examination and the assignments may confirm or modify the written examination grade, contributing to the final assessment.

    PRACTICAL EXERCISES
    Classroom exercises, covering approximately 40% of the total hours of the common part of the course, will be carried out throughout the semester. Students will also be assigned individual work to be completed at home in order to consolidate the theoretical concepts.
    The exercises include:
    • preparation of working drawings of mechanical components and machine elements, applying functional, technological, and inspection dimensioning;
    • correct selection and representation of threaded and non-threaded fasteners;
    • interpretation of technical drawings, focusing on the identification of shapes, functions, and functional relationships among the main machine elements;
    • complete representation of machine elements, including dimensional tolerances and surface finish indications.
    For students enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering curriculum, the classroom exercises are complemented by laboratory activities devoted to the preparation of technical drawings using 2D CAD systems, consistent with the topics covered during the lectures.
