Testi di riferimento | Machine Design: An Integrated Approach. Robert L. Norton |
Prerequisiti | Meccanica dei solidi. Scienza dei materiali. |
Metodologie didattiche | Lezioni frontali in aula. |
Metodi di valutazione | Esame scritto ed orale |

Contents | Overview on elastic theory: multi-directional stress and strain states, stresses and principal stress directions, failure criteria. Overview on the structural behaviour of mechanical components by considering the material plasticity, on the structural behaviour under fatigue loading conditions, also in presence of stresses concentration, by focusing on the notch effect, on the structural behaviour under bulking phenomena. |
Textbook and course materials | Machine Design: An Integrated Approach. Robert L. Norton |
Course objectives | The course provides the main theoretical bases about the main factors influencing the structural design phase; secondly, the descriptive, morphological and design aspects of the main mechanical components are presented |
Prerequisites | Mechanics of solids; material science. |
Teaching methods | Lectures. |
Evaluation methods | Oral examination. Solving of simple design problems. |
