Abstract: The SHERLOCK project aims to boost innovation at European level by designing and implementing an original and advanced educational framework based on microcredentials for upskilling the workforce and lifelong learning. It will integrate and combine a multidisciplinary green and digital skills portfolio towards the cooperation and knowledge exchange flow across different stakeholders, bolstering job creations and supporting the ambitious target of mass energy building retrofitting. Fostering retrofitting in the building sector, which accounts for 40% of the EU primary energy consumption and 35% of the carbon emissions, is paramount to achieve the EU decarbonisation targets by 2050. This requires a skilled workforce able to navigate through the multidisciplinary dimensions of building energy retrofitting, encompassing both technical, financial, and societal aspects. SHERLOCK aims to tackle this challenge by creating a MOOC-based MicroMaster programme and a VET oriented short training course based on microcredentials and case study education, targeting students and professionals from both the building energy retrofitting and financial sectors. The project will help overcome the skills mismatch between financial operators and project developers. The programme will be codesigned with VET providers and stakeholders through the setup and deployment of the SHERLOCK Knowledge Centres, which will act as a reference point for exchanging ideas and as a lasting alliance between universities, businesses, VET providers and public institutions. SHERLOCK will define the learning objectives, design the programme content & materials, implement and monitor the acquisition of the green and digital skills required in the building energy renovation sector. Finally, it will develop guidelines for educators in higher education institutions and VET providers on how to co-design and implement innovative MicroMaster programmes to support lifelong learning and upskilling of the labour market.

Abstract: Establishment of new Master Courses (MCs) on “Energy Efficiency, Building Retrofitting and Energy Planning” in Ukrainian Universities (UAUs) and promotion of EU best practices in the terms of educational methodologies and specific knowledge related to the energy efficiency and sustainability of buildings. Three are the specific objectives:
- Curricular development tailored to labour market requirements and enable to support the employability expectations of graduates by training them with up-to-date methodologies in the field of energy sustainable buildings. The new study programmes will be implemented in the UAUs with different training directions according to the local needs. MCs will start in the 3rd project year with the completion of the 1st academic year. The development process will be completed by updating didactical laboratories and new teaching aids materials to publish jointly between UA and EU teachers.
- Links university-enterprises: to develop a networking system among UAUs and stakeholders to remedy to the currently fragmented scientific background in Energy Efficiency and Sustainability and to the lack of distribution of knowledge, expertise, info and data.
- An "EU - Ukraine Green Deal Network” will be officially established, to enhance in tangible and actual terms the leading role of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in policies related to Energy Efficient and Sustainable Buildings, keeping into due account both the requirements set by UN 2030 Agenda, with specific reference to SDGs 7, 10, and 11, and the priorities of the EU Green Deal. UKRENERGY will also spread and promote UA awareness related to the EU policies referred to Sustainable and Energy Efficient Buildings and to enhance the approach towards EU best practices. Main beneficiaries of the outputs to be produced will be (about): 120 UA Sr. teaching staff, 60 UA Jr. teachers and assistants, 200 final yearstudents / new graduates and students to enrol to the new Master Courses.
